Please help our flat classroom students

"Please help Flatclassroom students in China"

Our Grade 9’s are participating in the Flat Classroom Project and they need your help!

Part of their final, individual video assignment includes having part of their video outsourced.

This is an amazing project, and our students have learned a lot… but this has come with some rather large challenges, most of which arise from one big issue: We are in China, behind the Great Filter Wall. This is challenging enough, but with certain global ‘social uprisings’ recently, the wall has been fortified… and since we are a school that struggles with bandwidth issues, we have felt really disconnected. For example, today my email would not come to my desktop mail client, and I could not get my mail online, even in the basic (HTML) mode it took too long to load.

Also, it’s hard to be global collaborators when one of the key social spaces to connect is blocked.

Now, back to our request for help!

Please create an outsourced video and share it with us.

Below are the requests, in our students’ own words, (all under 30 seconds of video).

If you can fulfill one of these requests, please comment here stating:
A) Which request can you help out with?
B) What is your name, and what country are you from? (If you get a student to do this, let us know their age too!)

Once the video is ready, contact me with your email address and I’ll invite you to a shared Dropbox, since downloading other ways causes issues for us, (Youtube, Blip, Vimeo and other video sites are all blocked, and after turning on my VPN to get around the GFW, my download speed is usually around 6-14kbs).
